The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the game board and bear them off the game board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a game in Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you move your chips are determined by your overall playing techniques. Players use differing techniques in the different stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Strategy

The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your pieces into your home board and get them off as quickly as you could. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or barricade your competitor’s pieces. The ideal scenario to employ this plan is when you think you can shift your own chips a lot faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your chips have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The main aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to stop your competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. As soon as you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can move your other checkers rapidly off the board. The player should also have a clear strategy when to extract and move the pieces that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when the opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
