As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to move your pieces safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely block any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a bad position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point two and point 11 in your game board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of the opponent, your competitor does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions hoping to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game tactic uses alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is often employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
