The Essential Details of Backgammon Game Plans – Part Two
As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to shift your pieces safely around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to round out your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their chips, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will win the game for sure.
The Back Game Strategy
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions hoping to boost your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan uses different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often employed when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
