As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and good luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game technique uses alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently utilized when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice toss.
