The History of Backgammon – Today and Before
Backgammon is the original game in recorded history. Also known as the "little war," backgammon began in ancient Iraq about 5 millennia ago. In any case, Egyptians referred to backgammon as "Senat," which is a similar type of the present game played today. Centuries ago, just individuals of power, the prevailing figures of aristocracy like Egyptian pharaohs, were permitted to play. The game began to grow worldwide since then. Many different Backgammon variants have been created in various regions and cultures, but the fundamental protocols of those variants look like those of the archaic form . For instance, Greece took hold of the game and called it by the title "bac gamen." From there, the Anglo’s borrowed backgammon in the 1600’s and have continued to play it ever since. Backgammon and other ancient games weren’t ever approved by a number of churches. The religious felt that the game was the work of the Devil. This led churches to blackball and burn the game. The banishment and burning had never prevent people gambling on games and having fun.
Technology offers an additional arena for Backgammon. When various video games are available everywhere, computer scientists in Artificial Intelligence (AI) use Backgammon for assessing, developing and measuring AI ideas and algorithms as a consequence of the ease of game codes and complexity of strategies.
