The objective of a Backgammon match is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and bear them off the game board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match in Backgammon requires both strategy and fortune. Just how far you can move your chips is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Players use differing strategies in the different stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game plan is to entice all your pieces into your home board and get them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the pace of moving your chips with little or no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s pieces. The ideal scenario to use this tactic is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have less pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The main aim of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about moving your pieces rapidly. As soon as you have established the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other chips swiftly from the game board. The player really should also have a good strategy when to extract and move the chips that you used for blocking. The game gets interesting when your opposition uses the same blocking strategy.
