The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 2
As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon tactics to complete your game.
The Priming Game Plan
If the aim of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to move her checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a bad position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your game board. After you’ve successfully built the prime to block the activity of your opponent, your opponent doesn’t even get a chance to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of winning, however the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is often employed when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice toss.
