As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to complete your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any activity of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get bumped, or result a battered position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point two and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, the opponent doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your chips and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hinder your opponent’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique utilizes different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is generally employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This tactic is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
