The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the game board and get those pieces from the board quicker than your opponent who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to shift your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling tactics. Players use different techniques in the differing parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your chips into your inside board and bear them off as fast as you could. This plan concentrates on the speed of moving your checkers with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s checkers. The ideal time to use this strategy is when you believe you might be able to shift your own checkers faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The primary aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to block your competitor’s pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your pieces quickly. As soon as you’ve created the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can move your other chips rapidly off the board. The player really should also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and shift the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
